Once again the Academy has announced the winners of the scientific and technical Awards, and once again the list of accomplishments recognized by the Academy is going to sail over the heads of those who are unfamiliar to the Science Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
But for those who know, eight selected by the Academy of achievement which has, in the words of AMPAS press release, “proven record of contributing significant value to the process of filmmaking.”
Sci-Tech Awards, as they are called, few in three versions. One award recipient with a certificate, one award a plaque, and one, which is not given every year, awards the Oscars get it.
Honorees this year 27 including three people who will receive an Oscar statue for the design and development of the ARRILASER Film Recorder.
